The management and general staff of the Ethiopian Health Insurance Service held a meeting on the Performance of the 2016 fiscal year plan and the 2017 plan. The Director General of Ethiopian Health Insurance Service, Ato Tesfaye Worku, opened the discussion and said that the result of the 2016EC fiscal year was achieved through a lot of effort and coordination. If we convince our minds that we can, we will bring change, if we prepare psychologically and prepare for change, we will do a better job. He stressed that we should work hard for better results by creating a better working environment with better ability for our next work. Ethiopian Health Insurance Service Director General Yamrot Andualem for her part, said that the plan is based on the 10-year strategic plan of health policy and health insurance, the commitment of the leadership at all levels and the fact that it is getting political attention has made the performance better. Kefialew Moti, Chief Executive Officer of the Strategic Affairs of the Ethiopian Health Insurance Service, while presenting the implementation of the plan for 2016, indicated in his report that he was able to create more than 11 million household members and thus 2.7 household members who could not pay the membership fee, benefited from an average of more than 53, million community health insurance. The plan for 2017EC will be implemented in four strategic areas by building capacity, increasing the number of members, ensuring financial sustainability and providing access to quality and fair medical services.
