Discussion is held on the study of community based health insurance Members’ Awareness, Perception, and Satisfaction on the program

On study, conducted by Ethiopian health insurance service about the community based health insurance beneficiaries’ awareness, perception and satisfaction discussion is held on with different stake holders at Adama city.
On the opening of the discussion, Hon. Ms. Workasumu Mamo in the house of parliament, health , social development, culture and sport permanent commute head stated that , because the government has given much attention, It has established council led by deputy Prime minister. The study on the beneficiaries’ awareness, Perception, and satisfaction will help us for our monitoring and follow up purpose.

The study findings shows that the proportion of members with good awareness is 64% at a national level regarding to perception members with positive or favorable perception is 58% and also the satisfaction rate is also 58%.The study covers 8 regions and two city administration and 6360 Sample size has taken Mr. Tesfaye worku General Director of Ethiopian Health Insurance service in his part said that the study has great role to improve the community health insurance members’ awareness perception and satisfaction he added that they will consider the comments raised in the dissection time to implement the study.
The study recommended that awareness and understanding of community based health insurance program significantly influence satisfaction with better informed members demonstrating higher satisfaction levels therefore there is a need to design tailored communication strategies taking into account the various disparities to improve the level of awareness of the community health insurance members.
